An evening when not only a book was born in public, but something in me also stepped into a new space — wrote David Dorosz, the author of We All Leave, on his social media after the book launch.
We All Leave is a novel that tells the story of an unusual weekend — and so much more. It is set in a luxury villa in the Balaton Uplands, where old friends, unspoken desires and unvoiced truths stand in tense opposition to one another. Then someone arrives who has not come to ask questions, but to hold up a mirror. And by the time Sunday comes around, no one is the same person they were on Friday.
As David Dorosz put it, as a writer he has now, for the first time, not hidden behind a role, nor spoken the language of politics, but his own. That is why last night meant so much, and why I am still under its spell. Your attention, your reactions, your expressions… this was not simply a book launch, but a shared, intense, very real moment.
The author also gave special thanks to his wife, whom he described as his muse and as someone present behind every sentence. He also highlighted Anna Ott, who hosted the We All Leave book launch with professionalism and sensitivity, as well as actress Vivien Rujder, who read from the novel and brought the characters’ thoughts to life with her voice.
